Big Art Auction 2024 at The National Gallery of the Cayman Islands
As we approach the vibrant season of creativity in Cayman, I’m excited to share some wonderful news. This October, I will be participating in the Big Art Auction 2024 hosted by the National Gallery of the Cayman Islands. It’s an incredible honor to have my painting, “Sprats at Dusk,” displayed alongside works by some of the most talented artists on the island.
The Big Art Auction is not just an opportunity to showcase local talent, but it’s also a meaningful fundraiser for the National Gallery, supporting art education, cultural initiatives, and expanding access to the arts for everyone in the community. For me, being part of this prestigious event highlights the importance of community and the role of art in our everyday lives. The National Gallery has been an inspiration to me, and I’m thrilled to contribute to their ongoing mission.
“Sprats at Dusk” holds a special place in my heart, as it’s a piece that embodies the twilight beauty of the Caribbean, where the last light of the day glimmers off the silvery sprats in the shallow waters of my beach home in Cayman Kai. To see the painting displayed in such a revered gallery feels like a milestone in my artistic journey. To see it amongst such greatness if local talent is beyond an honour.
