The greatest thing about working with a great team, is that from the moment they show up, you know the professionals have arrived.
That’s how I feel about the folks I work with, and today I feel so blessed when they all turn up, big smiles, positive attitude, all focused on making a difference.
It is all so very, very good, that I leave.
As anyone who has ever been a boss knows, if you don’t need to be there, micromanaging the team, that’s full credit to a great team for a job well done.
Plus, we haven’t had a day off in two weeks.
So what does one do on one’s day off on the official Last Day of Lockdown in the Cayman Islands?
Well, call me a bus-man-on-holiday, but it seems like a really good idea to go to a wonderful waterfront restaurant. D and I love Agua’s menu, we used to eat there a lot Before Covid. We have drinks, share a couple of appetisers – burrata with local tomatoes and crispy Ceci fried cauliflower. Then we have some light mains. I have the simple Misticanza salad (still divine) and D chooses the Sunpower vegan burger with hot crispy yucca fries (oh those fries!) Everything tastes so good, and we feel so spoilt. It is our first meal out since lockdown and it was totally worth the wait.
As we leave, the Agua team wave us goodbye, with exaggerated hand gestures to overcome the fact we can’t see their smiles under their masks, and hearty “come back soon”s.
Yes Agua, we’ll be back soon, for sure. Now that lockdown is finally over. 😊 🥂
