Today was the big reveal: the plan for The Big Return. The government announced what’s coming up next, for the easing of restrictions, in our islands, during this global pandemic.
- 1 new case. 141 total cases. 68 recovered. 0 hospitalised.
- On June 1st – all construction, and related businesses, retail and real estate businesses may reopen, exercise is permitted in any public place including government facilities, and non-contact sport is permitted.
- From June 7th – 22nd – hard curfew will be 10 pm to 4:30 am, with public meetings and exercise of up to 6 persons permitted.
- Open air, patio restaurants and bars to reopen, Sunday beach access permitted for all 🎉🎉🎉
- Low suppression level 2 regulations were announced for 22nd of June
It’s exciting, because we can reopen our business, we can see friends, I might even drive to the dark side (aka town) again. It’s also scary, because it won’t be going back to normal, there is no going back, and opening up to a new normal has its apprehensions. This is less The Big Return, more the Big Step into Unknown.
So am I nervous? Yes! But then I read something that reminds me that in 5 billion years the sun will burn out and nothing I decide today will matter. I feel better already.
Good night 😉
