I hear leaves drinking rain.
I hear rich leaves on top
Giving the poor beneath
Drop after drop;
‘Tis a sweet noise to hear
These green leaves drinking near.
And when the Sun comes out,
William Henry Davis
After this Rain shall stop,
A wondrous Light will fill
Each dark, round drop;
I hope the Sun shines bright;
‘Twill be a lovely sight.
Today was a super rainy day. It literally poured from morning until around 5pm, when the sun came out and skies lit up.
We popped into town to pick up my certificate from the government building, and the teens’ new beach cruisers from Uncle Bill’s. The rest of the day was spent lazily in the couch reading and relaxing. What else can you do on a rainy day?! I was looking through some poetry when I found th poem above written by William Henry Davis. It was so on point for the moment in time, as the rain hit hard, I had to post it. It was so more relevant than anything I had to add from my couch. And so, in an effort not to spoil something so pure in it’s simplicity, I add just a footnote and photos from the day.
Stay safe and good night!
