There’s a fine line between staying informed and a media overload.
We are all in this together, but sometimes quarantine can make me feel so alone.
I feel like I am swept into a hurricane of bad news about the coronavirus, and it is giving me a headache. And it’s not even hurricane season yet.
So, I’m avoiding the global news today, and the misinformation or sensationalism it offers. Today I decide to build my first blog in an effort to offer something alternative. In the current ‘Virus Age’ where the world is going back to basics, where better to do this than in Paradise?
D helps me on the tech side. He has the patience of an ox, and I don’t, so we make a pretty good team.
I am in the middle of another free online seminar when a good friend phones. His brother at the Cayman Compass would like to publish my article from Day 39 on the subject of over tourism.
“Oh god I am not ready for my first soap box” I say to D.
“Are you ready for your first hate mail?” replies D.
CI Gov press briefing: 1 new case of 558 tests. Total 94 cases. Antibody tests will be approved and used in the Cayman Islands in the near future, which may be helpful in providing immunity for a season.
Grand Cayman moves into suppression level 3 next Tuesday. Some relaxations to restrictions introduced by our Premier, with the warning “Dead people don’t make good clients. Sick people don’t make good workers.”
So if the message is that we, the people, must still #stayhomecayman, we will get anxious and bored if we aren’t entertained. My blog is about life, (currently in lockdown) in Caribbean Paradise. If you read this I hope you find an escape from anxiety, to be happier, feel less stressed, and flourish more. We are all in this together, after all.
