Day 14.

Two weeks in quarantine: down! And it’s starting to show. There are only so many isolation activities one can handle. The things that have kept me occupied these past fourteen days, are starting to lose their appeal, against the shiny light of hope that is our imminent freedom!

D makes a cappuccino

I water the garden.

The teens sleep in.

D, on his third coffee, does Duolingo.

I vacuum and mop around the house.

A does an online maths tutorial.

B sleeps in.

D listens to an audiobook.

I read the news. (The U.K. has over 35K new cases. Cayman’s imprisonment of a US teenager goes viral.)

A makes a healthy breakfast.

B sleeps in.

D swims with a glove taped to his wrist.

I cook B a late breakfast.

A is ‘strategic sunbathing’ (sun, then shade, then sun, then shade)

B wakes up.

D does breathing exercises.

I sunbathe / nod off by the pool.

A collects a puddle of water in her bellybutton.

B screams “score!” from his room.

D does more Duolingo.

I walk laps in the shallow end of the pool.

A writes an essay.

B screams “well done!” (a goal, perhaps?)

D googles curry recipes.

I make gingerbread men.

A cuddles and kisses her cat.

B hangs his Man U hat on the upstairs curtain pole. (This means they won, I am told.)

D makes chicken madras and tofu saagwala.

I do arm exercises.

A watches Gossip Girl.

B emerges downstairs for the first time.

We eat dinner.

I make hot mulled apple cider.

We watch ‘Skyscraper’ the movie.

We all go to bed early. Just one more sleep to go!

Thanks for joining the journey!
