Some paintings speak to you. This one moves. Thre Some paintings speak to you.
This one moves.

Threshold came from that exact moment a wave pushes onto the sand:
soft, forceful, fleeting, impossible to hold.

The more I look at this piece, the more it reveals how alive it is. Different light, different angle, different mood.
Same painting, new encounter.

That is the pull of abstraction:
it leaves room for you to arrive with your own feeling.

Tell me what you see. ✨

A wave lasts seconds, but the feeling of it can st A wave lasts seconds, but the feeling of it can stay with you.

This is Threshold.

I’m Claire Pettinati, aka Claire at the Beach, and I paint from life at the edge of the Caribbean Sea, translating moments of light, movement, and emotion into contemporary coastal works.

For this piece, I was drawn to one single wave rushing into the sand during a walk on Seven Mile Beach.

It reminded me that beauty often lives in transition.

That is the idea behind Threshold:
a painting about movement, tension, and release;
about the quiet power of crossing from one state into another.✨

Tell me in one word what this painting feels like to you.

What happens when a national tree begins to disapp What happens when a national tree begins to disappear?

“Silver Thatch: Fading Icon”, an oversized panel that’s 8 feet tall, started as an observation, then became a warning.

Eight frames.
One tree.
A slow loss of detail, and of presence.

The Silver Thatch palm, woven into the identity of the Cayman Islands, fades panel by panel, asking a quiet but urgent question: what do we lose when we stop paying attention?

First shown alongside works by Andy Warhol at the National Gallery, this piece reimagines Pop Art through a contemporary lens, blending pencil and digital process to capture something slipping away.

On April 18th, it goes to auction in support of the National Trust for the Cayman Islands.

This is not just a work of art.
It is a moment to act.

To collect it is to take part in protecting what remains.

This piece, Transitioning, will be going to live a This piece, Transitioning, will be going to live auction this Friday, 13 March, at the National Gallery of the Cayman Islands fundraiser at The Ritz.

I’m honoured to donate the work and support the gallery’s mission to nurture art and culture in Cayman.

The painting reflects the moment where sea meets shore, where one state dissolves into another. A quiet reminder that change is always in motion.

I’ll be there at the event and would love to see familiar faces.

Some mornings the sea feels like a mirror for ener Some mornings the sea feels like a mirror for energy. Between us we reflect back and forth. ✨

On my morning walks, the tide undulates quietly. Light scatters across the surface and every ripple carries its own reflection.

This series continues to move me away from painting what my eyes see and closer to what I feel: a moment of connection with the sea itself.

I hope it makes the viewer feel something too. If it does, let me know.

Looser.
Less horizon.
More feeling.
Not everything worked.

And that’s a wrap! 💥 The Biennial at the National And that’s a wrap! 💥

The Biennial at the National Gallery of the Cayman Islands has officially closed.

Grateful to have been part of this chapter, sharing work - alongside some of my favorite Cayman artists - that speaks to our land, our sea, and the questions we are brave enough to ask.

Conversations sparked. Perspectives shifted. Community showed up. Did the politicians listen, I wonder?

Art does not end when the doors close. It lingers. It echoes. It continues in all of us. Cayman’s landfill problem lives on too. Thank you to everyone who came, reflected, and shared the experience with the Cayman art community.

A new print, fresh off the press in Miami. Now car A new print, fresh off the press in Miami.
Now carefully wrapped and on its way to the United Kingdom.

There is something alchemical about this stage of the journey where craftsmanship meets technology:
canvas, and ink, and precision converge to create art. ✨

The colours are so deep and luminous. The detail is so refined it feels almost tactile. The print is so close to the original, you have to lean in twice just to be sure.

This is what happens when quality is non negotiable.
If you have been waiting for the right piece, this is your sign. Order yours today.

I’m trying something new.. Letting go. Releasin I’m trying something new..

Letting go.

Releasing the horizon
and the need to be accurate.
Or representational.

Instead, feeling it.
Wet feet, salt water, light in motion.
The energy I feel from my morning beach walks,
captured into a tangible art form .

I don’t know if this is the right move.
Shedding old skins means choosing discomfort.
And confusion.
Trusting the unknown.
Beginning again.

Somewhere deep down, though, this new direction feels like I am staring on the right path.
